Cranksgiving is a food drive on two wheels. Part bike ride, part food drive. All you need is a bike, a bag, and a lock... and a little money. Participants will gather at Fiddlin Fish, get checked in and then choose their own adventure by riding to one or more stores and purchasing items to donate, then ride back to drop off all the food (and possibly enjoy some delicious beer). Ride on your own, as a team, or do the beginner-friendly group ride with a leader to show the way. All food collected will be donated to the Shalom Project in Winston-Salem. The Shalom Project runs programs that challenge the cycle of poverty in our community with a spirit of inclusion, compassion, and justice. They have a medical clinic, pharmacy, clothes closet, and food pantry, and offer other supports in Winston Salem. Cranksgiving donations will be given directly to families in Winston-Salem who would otherwise struggle to have a special meal this Thanksgiving. All riders will be entered into a raffle and there will be a special prize for those with the most points (more on that day-of).
