Cranksgiving is part bike ride, part food drive, and part scanvenger hunt. Every year, throughout the country, Cranksgiving events are held and provide thousands of families with food for the holiday season.
All you need for this ride is a backpack/bike bags to carry the groceries, a bike lock, $20-25 to purchase food, and a bicycle of course!
Registration will start at 1:00pm at Transit Cycles located in the Annex. You will be handed a manifest with different locations and a list of food items to buy at specific grocery stores around town. We will roll out at 1:30pm, and it will be up to YOU to navigate to each grocery store, buy the food, and then get yourself back to Transit Cycles by 3:30pm. The route will be around 15-20 miles total. You can go to as many or as little of the grocery stores as you’d like. This is supposed to be fun!
For each item you purchase on the manifest, you will receive a raffle ticket to enter for a chance to take home some amazing prizes! We will share those prize options as the event draws closer.
All grocery/food items will be donated to the Tucson Food Share @foodnotbombs_tucson Feel free to check out there page, donate, or volunteer!
