Join Recycle-a-Bike and Providence Bike Jam for a food drive on two wheels. Cranksgiving is part bike ride, part holiday food drive, and part scavenger hunt. All you need is a bike, a bag, and a lock. Spread the word, let's crank it up for those in need! HOW IT WORKS: Show up to Recycle-a-Bike on Sat, Nov. 23 at noon in your Friendsgiving finest. We will break into teams (feel free to create a team beforehand if you like!) and set off into the city in search of food to donate to Amos House. Each team will get a list of items and grocery stores they need to hit. Who buys what items will be up to each team, but each person should plan to spend about $10-$20. Each team will keep an envelope of receipts to prove they bought the right items at the right stores. First team back to Recycle-a-Bike wins the glory!!! An after party at RAB will include cozy drinks and grub. Rain date is Sun, Nov. 24. ABOUT AMOS HOUSE: Amos House is a leading social service agency in Rhode Island, managing the largest soup kitchen in the state, providing social services to over 15,000 people a year and housing nearly 165 men, women and children a night.
