Louisville, KY
Cranksgiving is a free food drive on two wheels. Part bike ride and part food drive that’s has been held annually nationally since 1999.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Riders of all ages and skill levels receive a map of nearby grocery stores and ride their bikes – regardless of weather — to designated stores to purchase one or more food items specified on list. Everything purchased must be hauled by bicycle, either in a bag, pannier, rack, or trailer. You will return to start to donate the food you collected to benefit Dare to Care Food Bank's food pantry at Catholic Enrichment Center which is part of their Produce, Pantry, and Commodities Programs. Be prepared to spend about $15 (or however much you can) and ride between .5-6 miles.
