Cranksgiving Chicago Chapter is rolling again in 2024!

Cranksgiving is a food and donation drive on two wheels, and it's all about community. Every year, throughout the country, shops and individuals organize Cranksgiving events to help provide thousands of those in need with a food and other essentials during the holiday season. 

The event will begin with registration and check-in  from 10 to 11 am at Cosmic Bikes (with some energizing beverages and snacks on hand).  All you need is your bicycle, backpack or panniers, helmet, lock, map or city knowledge, and $20-25 to purchase goods. All riders will receive a list of items to buy from specific grocery stores around the NW Side, all accessible via local roads and trails.

Please note, that if you're able to donate a little more, this year, our Cranksgiving beneficiary, New Hope Food Pantry, has specifically requested adult and children's coats, hats and mittens to be distributed to people in need.

Once you've acquired everything you're able to on the list, come on back to Cosmic Bikes to drop off your goods, and warm up with chili and snacks! We will deliver all donation after the weekend to New Hope Community Food Pantry in Jefferson Park. This organization has been serving the communities of Chicago’s northwest side since 2004. New Hope Community Food Pantry has helped tens of thousands of families families, and has impacted the lives of individuals in need.
